Florida's Debt and Equity Management Expert


Robert D. Ashby is the President of Solid Rock Mortgage Corporation, a Florida Mortgage Brokerage Business, located in Pembroke Pines, FL. Mr. Ashby has been involved with Financial Services since 1998. He became Florida's first Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS). He is an active member in his local church and coaching soccer.

Mr. Ashby teaches Continuing Education for Financial Planners. He has published many articles and has been recognized as Florida's Debt and Equity Management Expert. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Upfront Mortgage Brokers Association, National Association of Mortgage Brokers, and the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers.

Solid Rock Mortgage has grown with a passion for excellence and a burning desire to have a positive impact on people's lives. Prior to starting Solid Rock Mortgage, Mr. Ashby was working as a Personal Financial Analyst. He obtained his Series 6 and 63 Securities licenses as well as his Life and Health Insurance licenses. He saw the need to utilize mortgages as a financial instrument and decided to focus on mortgages only after moving to Florida. He then started Solid Rock Mortgage with the intent to educate families on debt and equity managment strategies and researched these strategies in the same way he learned to fly commercial aircraft.

That's right, Mr. Ashby is also an Airline Pilot who happens to be furloughed from American Airlines. His last position was as First Officer (Co-Pilot) on the Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft flying internationally. The picture to the left was actually taken in Paris just prior to a return flight to the United States. He has flown across the Atlantic Ocean 18 times. Besides Europe, he has also flown to every country in Central America (except Belize), most countries in the Caribbean, and also Columbia, Venezuela, and Argentina in South America. He also flew the Boeing 727 and 737 while at American Airlines.
 
Prior to American Airlines, Mr. Ashby was flying for Atlantic Coast Airlines, holding the position of Captain for almost 3 years on two different aircraft types. During both airlines' tenures, especially while he was Captain, he was always planning for emergencies, just in case, but strategizing ways to complete each flight successfully. His belief is that the better you know your aircraft, the better ability you have to successfully complete the flight. He brings this mindset to the mortgage planning process so the people's lives he touches can attain true financial freedom.
